Shred Day in Waukon
FreedomBank is excited to invite the community to a FREE Shred Day event on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at 201 West Main Street in Waukon, Iowa. This event offers a convenient opportunity to safely and securely dispose of personal documents that could otherwise be at risk for identity theft.
Whether you're cleaning out old tax returns, bank statements, farm records, or other paperwork with sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, addresses, and account details, this event is designed to help protect your privacy. Tri-State Shred will be on-site with their mobile shredding truck to immediately destroy your documents.

- Cost: Free and open to the public
Each participant is welcome to bring up to three full boxes (10"x13"x18") or five paper grocery bags of documents to shred. For safety and efficiency, please remove any items that do not contain personal information, such as magazines, newspapers, and coupons.
Acceptable items for shredding include:
- Paper clips, staples, and rubber bands
- File folders and dividers
- Entire checkbooks
Please avoid shredding:
- Phone books, magazines, novels, and coupons
- CDs, DVDs, and batteries
- Hard drives or other electronics
- Metals, plastics, cardboard, or three-ring binders
“FreedomBank's Shred Day is part of our ongoing commitment to help protect our community from identity theft,” said Barb Shull, Senior Vice President of FreedomBank. “Not only are we safeguarding sensitive information, but we're also doing our part to support the environment by recycling shredded materials into new paper products.”
