FreedomBank Hosts Shred Day Event in Monona on April 29th
FreedomBank is pleased to announce a Community Shred Day in Monona on
Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM in the FreedomBank parking lot located at 106 South Main Street.
This event is free and open to anyone who needs to destroy personal documents such as old bank statements, tax
returns, farm records, and credit card statements - anything that may hold personal information such as social security
numbers, dates of birth, your address, and bank account numbers. Please avoid bringing magazines, newspapers,
coupons, or similar items that don't contain your sensitive information.
Each person is limited to two full boxes (10"x13"x18") OR three full paper grocery bags for shredding. Tri-State SHRED
will have their shred truck on site and items will be immediately shredded.
Acceptable shred items:
- Paper clips, staples, and rubber bands
- File folders and Dividers
- Entire checkbooks
Items to avoid shredding:
- Phone books, magazines, novels, coupons, and three-ring binders
- Batteries, CDs, and DVDs
- Hard Drives and other electronics
- Metals, plastics, cardboard, binders
- Anything thicker than a paper clip or staple
“Community Shred Day is one way we are committed to protecting individuals from identity theft by securely discarding
sensitive documents. At the same time, we are helping the environment by recycling the materials into other paper
products,” said Jim Moritz, Market President of FreedomBank.
The timeframe for collecting items for shredding may be restricted by the truck’s capacity. Please contact Sara
Hertrampf, FreedomBank’s marketing officer, at (563) 245-2522 if you have any questions.
