FreedomBank Named as a 2024 National Community Bank Service Awards Recipient
FreedomBank has received an honorable mention in the Independent Community Bankers of America's (ICBA) 2024 National Community Bank Service Awards. This annual program celebrates the remarkable and creative volunteer efforts of the nation's community
banks. Stories about the award recipients are featured in the September issue of ICBA's Independent Banker magazine.
The $425 million-asset bank was recognized for its "Supplies for Success" initiative, which supports local teachers who often use their own money to purchase essential classroom supplies, ensuring
students have the resources they need to succeed.
“We believe in supporting our community’s educators, who play such a crucial role in shaping the future,” said Kathy Mueller, president and CEO of FreedomBank. “Our 'Supplies for Success' initiative is our way of showing teacher appreciation for their
dedication and hard work in educating tomorrow’s leaders. We are honored to receive this recognition from ICBA and will continue to support our local schools and educators in every way we can.”
Through the "Supplies for Success" program, FreedomBank gathers requests from teachers and works with community members and local businesses to fulfill these needs. This initiative not only helps to ease the financial strain on teachers but also fosters
a sense of community involvement and support for local education.
“ICBA is proud to recognize FreedomBank for its innovative approach to community service and its commitment to supporting local educators,” ICBA President and CEO Rebeca Romero Rainey said. “The 'Supplies for Success' program is a wonderful example
of how community banks can make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals and help strengthen the fabric of their communities.”
Since the launch of the ICBA National Community Bank Service Awards program in 2002, more than 100 community banks have been recognized for their outstanding contributions to their communities. Bank technology services provider FIS, of Jacksonville,
Fla., sponsored this year’s program. For more information about ICBA and the National Community Bank Service Awards, visit ICBA's website at www.icba.org.
